Ric Hassani Opens Up on Why Some Gospel Artists Move to Secular Music

Popular Nigerian singer, Ric Hassani, has shared his thoughts on why some gospel musicians leave gospel music and start singing secular songs.

In a recent interview, Ric Hassani explained that many people often think gospel artists switch because they want more money. However, he said that is not always true. According to him, it is more about how gospel artists are treated by their fellow Christians and the people in the gospel music community.

Ric Hassani said that some gospel singers feel judged, criticized, and not properly supported by other Christians. Instead of receiving love, encouragement, and understanding, many gospel artists feel left out and condemned for their mistakes or personal struggles.

He also pointed out that in the secular music world, artists tend to support and uplift each other more, showing love and standing together. This makes some gospel singers feel it’s easier to succeed and be accepted in the secular space than in the gospel music industry, where they sometimes feel alone.

Ric Hassani added that this is one of the reasons some gospel artists decide to leave gospel music, not just for fame or money, but because they want peace of mind, freedom, and a place where they won’t be judged for being themselves.

He encouraged people, especially Christians, to show more love, support, and kindness to gospel artists so they can grow in their music careers and still remain in the gospel ministry without feeling abandoned.
