Portable Laments as SUV Is Vandalized After Abeokuta Performance

Nigerian street-pop artist Portable has expressed his frustration after his bulletproof Chevrolet SUV was vandalized following a performance in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The incident reportedly took place shortly after the singer wrapped up his appearance at the grand opening of a hotel. Portable shared videos on social media displaying the damage, which included a shattered rear window and a broken tail light. Despite the vehicle being bulletproof, the impact caused visible harm.

In his statement, the artist expressed gratitude that no one was injured during the episode and commended the swift intervention of security operatives, who apprehended a suspect in connection with the incident. He appealed to the authorities to ensure the culprit faces appropriate consequences.

Portable also called on his supporters for assistance in covering the cost of repairs, noting that the SUV is one of only a few of its kind in the country. The incident has since stirred discussions about security measures and crowd management at public events.
