Davido Calls Out Osun State Commissioner of Police

Nigerian singer Davido has criticized Osun State’s Police Commissioner, CP Mohammed Umar Abba, over recent political unrest in the state.

Osun state, currently led by Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is experiencing tensions between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The crises began when the dismissed local government chairmen from the APC tried to reclaim their positions, despite court decisions removing them.

During a press conference, Governor Adeleke urged President Bola Tinubu to restrain Minister Gboyega Oyetola from using security forces to reinstate these officials, advocating for legal appeals instead.

He emphasized that any grievances should be addressed through legal appeals rather than forceful takeovers.

On Monday, February 17, 2025, the clashes escalated as the ousted chairmen attempted to retake their offices, leading to gunfire and confrontations with PDP members.

In response, Davido took to social media, accusing the police commissioner of not upholding the law and warning him not to test his resolve.

In his words:

“Mr commissioner respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us !! Make we all kuru mad !! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post u every day everywhere Mr man !!! Try me fucker.

However, hours later, Davido retracted his statements, acknowledging that his emotions had clouded his judgment due to the violence.

He apologized to CP Abba, recognizing his efforts to maintain peace in Osun State, and called for increased security measures ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
