Wunmi Celebrates Late Mohbad on Father’s Day

Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has shared an emotional tribute to her husband in honor of Father’s Day.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, June 16, Wunmi posted a heartfelt message alongside a photo of Mohbad with their son, Liam. In her words:

Happy Father’s Day to the greatest father that ever lived. Even in death, you still show up. I feel it all the time — keep watching over Liam.”

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, which are still being investigated.

Since his death, Wunmi has remained vocal about her grief and the challenges of raising their son alone. In March 2025, during an interview on Arise News, she expressed the pain of losing her husband at just 24 years old. She also called out a nurse she believes was involved in his untimely death.

“I was widowed at 24. I haven’t even enjoyed life, and the nurse that made me a widow is still free,” she said.

Wunmi’s Father’s Day post has drawn sympathy and support from many social media users, who praised her strength and continued devotion to preserving Mohbad’s memory.

The couple’s son, Liam, born in April 2023, remains a central figure in Wunmi’s life as she continues to seek justice for her late husband.
