Chiwetalu Agu Warns Against Toxic Marriages
Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu shared a strong advice about marriage and relationships, therefore urging people to put their happiness and safety first.
In a Instagram post, he said marriages should not be seen as a must-do in life and encouraged that singles take their time before choosing a partner and warned against rushing into marriage for the wrong reasons.
He also advised people in abusive or unhappy marriages to seek help or leave, saying that divorce is better than staying in a harmful situation.
“Marriage is not a do-or-die affair. If you have an abusive partner, run for your life. If you are in a toxic relationship, run for your life,” he wrote.
He further stressed the importance of doing background checks before marriage, warning against choosing a partner based only on looks or pressure from society.
“Always remember to run background checks before marrying someone,” he added.
